Hi, I'm Sophia!
With a lifelong passion for writing and an educational focus in the genre of Creative Nonfiction, I have a keen sense of literary craft and story curation. I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Emerson College's nationally acclaimed Creative Writing program and have extensive experience in literary editing, screenwriting, poetry, personal essay writing, and memoir. I publish my creative work through a blog, which can be found here, and have a passion for exploring my own life experiences. I worked as a literary editor at Emerson's largest on campus magazine and discovered an affinity - and a talent - for editing and helping others challenge themselves to uncover their own stories.
As someone who was applying to college not too long ago, I'm all too familiar with the toll these applications can take on students. In the 5 years since filling them out for myself, I've come to understand the process, specifically the impact of the personal statement and supplements, in a way that I wish I had before submitting to colleges and universities. I strive to help students write essays and short answers that feel personal and powerful, avoiding an overly-academic, robotic application and allowing schools to see the intricacies of you as a human, a candidate, and a future community member of their institutions. |
